Given their depth of experience not only in the legal aspects of land use planning and property rights but also their proven ability to think like developers, the team at Hayward Uskoski & Associates (HUA) was hired by experienced, local developers for this complex project. The goal was to reach a developer’s agreement within an extremely tight time frame. Envisioned by the developers as a 282-lot, multi-phase subdivision in Washougal,Wash., the HUA team was charged with designing the subdivision while working in tandem with the client’s attorneys and the city council to gain approval on the project and allow a developer’s agreement to move forward before the two month deadline.
A project laden with constraints, Hayward Uskoski & Associates was charged with maximizing the site’s buildable space while also addressing the significant issues of preserving wetlands, mitigating steep slopes and avoiding BPA power lines and natural gas lines. Hayward Uskoski & Associates was able to address all of these matters and successfully design a subdivision that met the client needs and mitigated the concerns of the city council. Ultimately, the council approved the project and Hayward Uskoski & Associates was able to ensure the developer’s agreement was reached for the client.
